Céad Míle Fáilte!

Welcome to the Home of the Burlington County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. We are the only Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Burlington County and we would like to invite you to join us to celebrate our Irish Heritage and Culture at the Parade that will take place on Saturday March, 3 2012 at 1 P.M. in Downtown Mount Holly.

The Parade is a fun filled day with Pipe Bands, Irish Bands Step Dancers and many more examples of Irish Traditions. Please look around the website for more information about the Parade and how to take part. We welcome you to join us either as a volunteer, sponsor or participant. Please contact us if you have any questions and I hope to see you at the Parade. Also meet up with us afterwards at High Street Grill for the official After Party with non stop Irish music on two stages all day and night.

Each year the parade committee also selects a Miss St. Patrick to join our Grand Marshal in leading the parade down the street.  She receives an educational scholarship to help further her studies.  Along with this the Parade committee sponsors and runs several events that showcase Irish Heritage as well as educational and cultural events that will help the public gain a greater understanding of Irish Culture.

We are always looking for new volunteers to take part in the planning and running of the parade. If you are interested please contact us and someone will be in touch with you. I look forward to seeing all of you at next year’s parade.

(MT. HOLLY, NJ) -     The Burlington County St. Patrick’s day Parade today strongly objected to the NJ Hall of Fame and it’s Executive Director Don Jay Smith selecting bigoted racist Thomas Nash for inclusion in the Hall of Fame.

“Despite Don Smith’s suggestion that Nash’s racism was only a small part of his work his attacks on the Irish, Catholics, African Americans and many others tells the real story” said Jim Logue President, Burlington County St. Patrick’s day Parade.   “Any amount of racism and bigotry is unacceptable and to honor these views and acts is unconscionable” said Logue.

Groups across the state have been calling on Nash to be removed from considerable including the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Irish Anti-Defamation Federation, Italian American One Voice Coalition and others have joined the chorus in stating that these views should not be honored.

The Burlington County St.Patrick’s Day Parade is asking everyone to contact Don Smith at DjSmith@njhalloffame.org or call him at 973-648-0516 and tell him that Thomas Nast’s racist views should not be honored.

The Burlington County St. Patrick’s day Parade is the largest Parade and Irish event in all of South Jersey involving over 100 Irish organizations and groups each year from throughout the region.  Please visit our website at www.mounthollyparade.com for more information.
